Or, maybe you need to download a large application or update, and don’t want to keep nipping back every few minutes, just to wiggle your Mac’s mouse and prevent it from falling asleep. In this article, I’ll show you how to ensure your Mac remains wide awake, even when its lid is closed.
/reinstall-apple-maps-app-mac.html. Hi There,
I have a 2013 late mac pro. Every now and again when i move the mouse the screen just goes black. I use the computer all day and I guess it happens about 6 times a day, normally when i knock the mouse with my arm and it moves quickly in one direction, although attempts to simulate it have failed so the best i can say is 'sometimes when i accidentially move the mouse the screen goes blank'. I have 2 monitors connected and they both go off, with one of them saying no connection. A wiggle of the mouse or keyboard and things come back. Interestingly, while the screen is blank, typing in the keyboard has no effect. So i guess somehow the movement of the mouse is generating a command for the mac to sleep????? Its exceedingly annoying when you're right in the middle of something important.
I have tried: many different mice (7, bluetooth and wired, no difference), always the same issue, multiple different monitors (one monitor connected, many monitors connected to multiple different sockets etc - tried LOTS of cables and ports on the mac, all the thunerbolt ports, the HDMI port - none make any difference). Zapped as much pram as humanly possible, SMC restarts, the lot. Also, this also happened on my previous mac pro, from 2009ish. I thought it was just some strangeness of an old machine, but no, its doing it right now. Its also done it through successive releases of OSX (now on 10.10.3)
I have checked an the hot corners are all off (not that the mouse moves to the hot corners).
Does anyone have any idea? I have tried googling but google fails on this i just find lots of threads about mac screens going black and waking up with a wiggle of the mouse.. I kinda have the opposite probem.
Thanks
Lee

Mouse Jiggler is a small and sometimes helpful tool which will simulate mouse movement.
/osmosis-app-for-mac.html. The program itself really has no other functions other than faking mouse movement. This functionality can be useful in certain situations, not least of which is to disable annoying screensavers which can then prevent one from having to unlock their system.
Mouse Jiggler remains silently in the system tray and can be easily activated and subsequently deactivated at any time with just a couple of clicks.
Use of this program also does not get in the way of when you're actually using the PC.

Overall, Mouse Jiggler can be helpful in some situations and is somewhat unique in that there are very little non-ad-supported or completely free apps out there like it.
